- A Geléhallon (Swedish Candy) that I got to make for the Hiberworlds candy theme, Material was made in Substance Designer.
At Hiberworld I Worked as a 3D Generalist in 2021, It started with an internship during my studies at Yrgo which got me a job that started in May 2021 and ended in December 2021.
During this time I got the chance to work on creating props for Hibers different themes such as
- Classic/Base Assets
- Ancient Ruins
As well as helping out creating renders for Hibers marketing team to use as headers and youtube thumbnails.
By the end of my employment, Hibers engine got a few limited tools for VFX and particles and I took quite some interest.
And I started getting into creating some VFX and Procedural tools in Substance Designer, which made me realize that I wanted to become a VFX Artist which eventually lead me to The Game Assembly Technical Artist education.
I made the checkpoint VFX and Gem pick up VFX, which has been either improved upon or replaced as the engine got better tools.
- Gem pick up VFX I made when the engine first could support some sort of Particles.
Considering that Hiber is a game where the players themselves build assets with the assets I have made I have gathered some pictures where I could find my assets in the game. Some of them have been adjusted with new textures since I last saw them and some of them where a team effort. I was responsible for following in picture
- Trash canister
- Pots and Planter box
- Modular skyscrapers (team effort)
- Modular pillars and ancient ruins (team effort)
- Watering can and the round bushes next to it
- Destroyed ancient pots
It was really challenging trying to create optimized good looking props that can look good in a range of different sizes and rotations, A fun challenge where I learned a lot about how to work in a team and how to work in production as well as thinking out of the box to try and account for every use the assets could be used as by the players.
